Abstract:
In Latvia there is a regulation that mother of father can take a maternity leave for 12 - 18 months but from January 2023 there is a regulation that both parents should have maternity leave. For example, if it is decided that it will be a mother who will be on maternity leave then father should take such maternity leave for at least two months. If family chooses that father takes maternity leave, then mother should take it for two months at least.
