Abstract:
The "Women in Business – Green and Caring World" program, initiated by The Estonian Entrepreneurial Women's Association (BPW Estonia) in 2021, aims to establish and grow a nationwide network of female entrepreneurs dedicated to green business practices. This innovative program seeks to boost the number of women entrepreneurs in Estonia who lead environmentally sustainable businesses. Focused initially on awareness, the program has evolved in 2023 to emphasize the development of practical green entrepreneurship skills. Participants are equipped with knowledge and tools to create eco-friendly products and services, and to launch new green enterprises, primarily supporting small and medium-sized businesses. Guidance is provided by esteemed mentors specializing in sustainability, fostering a nurturing environment for learning and growth. A significant outcome of the program is the creation of a Green Entrepreneurship Guide, aiming to inspire the launch of competitive green startups within the network. Originating from the BPW Estonia Tallinn Club, the initiative is part of the broader BPW International network, which supports business and professional women across the globe. The program has since gained international momentum, extending its reach beyond Estonia. Support for the project in 2023 comes from notable partners including the Coca-Cola Foundation, Estonian Business School, and the Estonian Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Through this collaborative effort, "Women in Business – Green and Caring World" is making significant strides in promoting environmental sustainability within the entrepreneurial community, marking a pivotal step towards a greener and more inclusive business landscape.
