Abstract:
Since March 2021, a research team from the Institute for Research in Social Communication SAS from Slovakia has been conducting a gender audit at the Academy, intending to gain a deeper understanding of the current state of gender issues. The first version of the PRR SAV brings its preliminary results and defines an action plan aimed at eliminating inequalities - in the case of scientific staff. The main target groups of this inititiave are women. Implementation of the Principle of Equal Treatment is important for the digital empowerment and capacity building of women taking leadership roles. The intervention has some foundation on research. The Institute performs basic interdisciplinary research, focusing on social communication and interpersonal relationships. They build on conceptual and methodological framework of psychology, educational science, and philosophy, while filling the gaps between scientific disciplines. The SAS set 5 main goals within the action plan: to actively promote work-life balance; to promote equal representation of women and men in leadership positions; to support equal opportunities in the recruitment process and career development; to integrate a gender perspective into research, and to promote a work environment free of gender-based violence and sexual harassment.
