Abstract:
"With Purpose" is a Nordic initiative aimed at diminishing the gender gap in entrepreneurship by supporting female entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and connections to succeed in business creation and development. The program's core mission is to enhance skill sets, increase the visibility of women in the entrepreneurial space, and establish a robust network of female founders and mentors across the Nordic region. Despite the proven higher revenue performance of companies with women founders or co-founders—45% more than male-only led companies—investment disparities persist. In 2019, only 1.3% of total capital raised in the Nordics was directed towards female-founded teams, with Denmark, Sweden, and Norway seeing even lower percentages at around 1%. The initiative focuses on female entrepreneurs in the Nordics, offering workshops, networking opportunities, and mentorship to bridge the investment and opportunity gap faced by women. "With Purpose" targets creating a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem, recognizing the untapped potential and contribution of female entrepreneurs to the economy. By addressing the stark investment gap and fostering an environment that supports women's entrepreneurial ventures, "With Purpose" aspires to not only promote gender equality in business leadership but also to stimulate economic growth and innovation in the Nordic region through a more inclusive approach to entrepreneurship.
