Abstract:
The Sweden's Women's Organizations (SWO) stands as a pivotal, politically and religiously independent umbrella organization that champions the rights and status of women in Sweden. Founded in 1997, SWO has since been at the forefront of advocating for full human rights for women and striving towards a gender-equal society both within Sweden and on a global scale. By bringing together 49 member organizations, SWO harnesses a collective force with the shared goal of elevating women's status across all facets of Swedish society. SWL's mission encompasses the integration of women's perspectives into all political, economic, and social processes, ensuring that women's voices and needs are considered in decision-making at both local and international levels. A key activity of SWL is leading the "Lön hela dagen" (Equal Pay Throughout the Day) movement, which focuses on advocating for gender-equal pay, highlighting the organization's commitment to addressing economic disparities faced by women in the workforce.
