Abstract:
Association of Business Women (Verslo Moteru Asociacijos- VMA) aims to promote women's entrepreneurship and participation in the state economy and international projects, to strengthen their mutual cooperation in the fields of business, self-development and self-expression, as well as to use their creative and organizational potential in carrying out projects beneficial to society. The field of the Association’s activity is the development of professional knowledge and personality of Lithuanian women entrepreneurs, active involvement in public and social activity and representation of these women in seeking the realization of their ambitions and interests. Furthermore the Association aims at fostering and bolstering women’s entrepreneurship, equality in leadership as well as their involvement in the economic sphere and to seek assurance of the principle of equal opportunities in business by enhancing the impact of women entrepreneurs in business self-governance. The Association also fosters women to make business decisions more actively. Types of activities of the association: preparation and coordination of projects, coordination of financial support for these projects; preparation of applications and participation in projects developed by the EU Structural Funds and other organizations; organization of business events; consulting business and other management activities; outsourced information service activities; education and training. The mentoring project "Business Mentors Network" consists of a group of VMA members who are united by the desire to share the accumulated knowledge and experience with persons who intend to create a business or are looking for help in its development.
