Abstract:
The Migrant Women Association Malta has launched the Empowerment Circles project. The project offers a series of weekly ‘circles’ to provide a safe space for migrant women to share experiences and learn more about Malta, while developing their English skills. Four different circles are taking place on rotation: Meeting Circle – an opportunity for migrant women to meet each other and share their experiences, with discussion of various topics relevant to migrant women in Malta Employment & Entrepreneurship Circle – workshop sessions on employability and entrepreneurial skills, covering job-hunting, applying and interviewing for jobs, recognition of qualifications, online business development, and workers’ rights Crafts Circle – workshops to introduce a variety of craft techniques and encourage creativity, providing an outlet for relaxation and the opportunity to discover a new creative talent Health & Well-being Circle – activities like yoga and meditation, as well as discussion of topics like healthy eating, self-care, and stress management
