Abstract:
The Council drafts proposals for the promotion and achievement of equality for women and men. In particular, the Council discusses and recommends to the Government basic policies for conceptual directions in the procedure of promoting equality of women and men, coordinates main directions of ministerial policies in the area of gender equality. The Council has a range of priorities for ministerial projects supporting equal opportunities for women and men. This initiative is important for capacity building of women in leadership roles and decision-making positions. The committee in order to coordinate procedures in the area of ensuring institutional protection of gender equality, it cooperates with public administration bodies (state administrations and local governments), the professional public and non-state non-profit organizations, The committee monitors statistical data on gender equality within institutional security.
