Abstract:
As part of the wider Central European region, Austria greatly benefits from the diversity of the region's workforce and corporate leadership teams. One of the remarkable features of Austria's neighboring countries is the percentage of women in corporate leadership positions. This is not a new trend brought about by stringent quota requirements. Rather it appears to reflect greater openness to gender diversity and accepting female leaders. With that in mind, the event has been organised to bring together a panel of renowned senior executives. They were asked to share their personal experiences and to discuss how it is possible to learn from other countries in Central Europe in terms of how they provide better career opportunities for women. In the panel factors that help support women's career advancement in Central Europe are analysed as well as how it is possible to learn from such experiences in order to create an environment that better supports women in Austria in reaching their career goals and to contribute to more diverse and successful companies.
