Abstract:
If there is any appropriateness in giving the numerical order to the UN-issued Sustainable Development Goals[1], then the need to have ‘Gender Equality’ must be higher in ‘ranks’, because, arguably, it drives forward every other positive development in any society. In January 2021, when Kaja Kallas (Reform) became Estonia’s first ever female Prime Minister, her inaugural cabinet was impressively gender-balanced, having seven female and eight male Ministers[2]. In total, since 1992 and on the day of appointing the first (and only so far) cabinet of Kaja Kallas, the Estonian Government was featured by the presence of 127 men and 31 women as holders of Ministerial portfolios
