Abstract:
Taking the literature in the field as a starting point, they attempted to highlight a series of factors that explain the low presence of women among political parties, especially in their leadership structures and power networks, on electoral lists and especially in institutions of political representation – at local, national and European levels. This study is related to political power of women in terms of equal leadership because it wants to show the situation of women in those positions, with the aim of contributing changing the future. In fact, they justify that: - Women in Romania continue to face difficulties when it comes to taking part in electoral competition and even greater difficulties when it comes to actually occupying eligible positions. - For the first time since Romania's accession to the EU, there has actually been a decrease in the political representation of women, both at national and European levels. - The organisational culture of political parties continues to be heavily influenced by patriarchal values in terms of gender roles.
