Abstract:
The “Women are TOP! To the top by innovative corporate cultures” project ran from September 2013 to April 2015 and was intended to contribute to increasing the proportion of women in managerial and decision-making positions through more gender-equitable organizational cultures . It was coordinated by the Section for Women's Affairs and Gender Equality of the BKA. Two partner organizations carried out independent sub-projects: FORBA was dedicated to increasing the proportion of women in business leadership and management positions , WU Vienna focused on increasing the proportion of women on supervisory boards. As part of the FORBA sub-project, more than 50 good practice measures from Austrian companies were collected, which are already being successfully implemented in companies of various sizes, sectors and locations in order to increase the proportion of women in management and leadership positions. The companies were intensively involved in order to create adequate corporate cultures that promote gender equality. Through close cooperation with small, medium-sized and large companies in Austria, models are tested, experience is gained and ways are found to strengthen the representation of women in management positions. In 2023, the examples of measures were fundamentally revised and updated, which is now intended to provide a handout for companies, HR and diversity managers as well as works councils in this toolbox on how women and men can succeed in achieving equal management responsibility in their company. The focus is on gender equality in all areas of the company, in the Executive Board and Management as well as in the Supervisory Board. Diversity experts from Deloitte also contributed their expertise to this new work.
