  • Abstract:

In the Austrian branch of an international IT company there is a so-called Diversity Council of Executives, which represents a strong institutionalization of the area of gender and diversity . The Diversity Council is embedded in the local business strategy. It consists of members from different hierarchical levels, areas and origins, so it is itself as diverse as possible (management, human resources, managers, employees). In the corporate structure, it is supporting other corporate' areas. This form of institutionalization makes the issue of gender and diversity a cross-cutting issue . Due to the strong connection to the business strategy, the broad composition of the Council and its settlement at the management level, the Gender & Diversity agendas are given great weight, regular processing and a high level of legitimacy.
