Abstract:

The WCI-Limerick take part in public consultations relating to women’s issues and broader issues using a gendered lens. They were instrumental in the establishment of the Limerick Women’s Caucus, the first of its kind at a local level in the country.
This is an initiative to search how to get more women involved in politics and political leadership, therefore this is directly related to political power. For that, they do every year a participatory event with the local women to create a safe and supportive space for women to openly discuss their feelings and ideas on the topic of political participation, intended for local women from Limerick.
For the activity of the 3th of April in 2023, the proposed different questions:
- What exactly is preventing them from entering politics?
- Is there anything they would need to get more involved?
- And if they have any suggestions for change?
