    This policy document outlines Luxembourg's strategy for promoting gender equality in various areas, including decision-making positions in politics, business, and public administration. Through this action Plan, the Luxembour government is committed to the national implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1325 (2000) on women and peace and security. Resolution 1325 has emerged as an essential tool for the international community in strengthening peace and security. UNSCR 1325, as well as its follow-up resolutions, set several objectives at the national and international levels, in which its first objective is: • To strengthen the equal participation of women and men at all levels of peace processes and security, including conflict prevention and peace negotiations, as well as the participation of women in decision-making in national and international institutions. Furthermore, the main objective of the participation section of this action plan is: To promote the equal participation of women and men at all levels of peace and security processes, and support women's participation in decision-making. Particularly in promoting equal representation of women and men in the diplomatic, military and Police forces; strengthening the participation of women, as under-represented sex, in decision-making and in the leadership of the Army, the grand Ducal Police and the Ministry of foreign and European Affairs; Ensuring greater participation of women as underrepresented sex in military and civilian peacekeeping operations and in electoral observation missions; and work to increase the number of women in multilateral organizations at all levels of responsibility.
