Abstract:
Women On Top (WoT), founded in 2012, is a prominent Greek non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advancing women's economic empowerment and promoting equality in the workplace. Initially conceived as a mentoring network, WoT offers women from any sector, level of experience, or geographic region the opportunity to connect with mentors who can provide guidance and support in overcoming professional challenges. This initiative has evolved into a thriving community that strengthens women's professional development through a combination of mentorship, training seminars, and networking events. WoT addresses a wide range of essential topics, such as employability, leadership, entrepreneurship, financial resilience, digital skills, communication skills, mentorship, and gender equality. Over the years, WoT has empowered thousands of women by offering tailored programs designed to meet their specific professional needs. One of WoT’s flagship programs is the “Leading to the Top” workshop series, organized in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. These workshops, designed for women in corporate environments, entrepreneurs, and self-employed professionals with 3 to 15 years of experience, focus on developing the leadership skills required to manage teams and navigate complex organizational dynamics. Key topics covered in these workshops include: Cooperation, negotiation, and trust; Leadership and change management; Personal development and empowerment; Career planning and professional growth; Emotional intelligence and leadership; Building and managing high-performance teams. Participants can choose to attend individual seminars or the entire series for a more comprehensive experience. Those who complete the full program receive a certificate of participation, underscoring their commitment to personal and professional growth. In 2024, WoT is expanding its offerings with the launch of a new series of training seminars titled "Economics Courses", a 9-month training cycle aimed at women over the age of 18. This program focuses on enhancing financial resilience by introducing participants to the basic principles of financial literacy. The courses are designed to equip women with the skills necessary to manage their financial futures effectively, helping them to build confidence in areas such as budgeting, saving, and investing. Through its diverse initiatives, Women On Top continues to play a crucial role in closing gender gaps in the workplace, fostering a community of empowered women who are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and networks to succeed in their professional and personal lives.
