  • Abstract:

This initiative is promoted by KETHI (Research Centre for Gender Equality), a legal entity under private law of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in partnership with the Laboratory on Gender Studies of Panteion University, the Association of Piraeus and Attica Industries (SVAP) and the Centre of Excellence-University of Iceland (EDDA). With a budget of 192.000€, it aimed to investigate the policies and attitudes of female workers and employers in reconciling professional and family/private life issues, and to record policy proposals for its facilitation, thus promoting women’s economic power and participation in the work force. The program included several initiatives, such as the development of gender-sensitive policies and practices in the workplace and the promotion of flexible working arrangements. It also aims to raise awareness about the benefits of gender equality and work-life balance and to encourage employers to adopt these practices. Its goal was to create a more inclusive and supportive work environment that enables women to participate fully in the workforce and to achieve their career goals, while also fulfilling their family responsibilities. By promoting gender equality and work-life balance, the program aimed to contribute to the overall economic development of Greece.
