Abstract:
The book "She Leads: gender equality in the future of work" written by Stefano Cuzzilla, President Federmanager and 4.Manager together with Andrea Catizone, Lawyer on the rights of the person and discrimination investigates the reasons for the gender gap, denouncing current weaknesses and highlighting possible ways of improvement, to spread a more equitable and inclusive corporate culture. The gap widens if it is considered the go up in the organizational charts of all sectors: on average, only 35% of managers in Europe are women. In Italy, the percentage is even lower: the analysis of the 4.Manager Observatory reveals that female managerial positions are stuck at 28% of the total and the share is reduced to 19% if it is consideredid the positions regulated by an executive contract. The survey conducted on a sample of over 17,000 companies indicates that only 16.5% are women-owned and operate mainly in the manufacturing, health and social assistance sectors. The role of chairman of the board of directors is held by only 12.2% women, a percentage that drops to 11.9% among CEOs.
