Abstract:
Gender equality and the role of women has been an important issue in the world of sports. Since the few years the initiatives of the International Olympic Movement helped a lot to decrease the under representation of women in all areas of sport. As a result, the percentage of female athletes nears 50% in many sports, and this results in the increasing rate of female coaches, umpires and sport managers.
