Abstract:
Supported by the Brussels-Capital Region, this project represents the First European Female Ecosystem aimed at empowering women in technology and innovation. The platform unites both public and private sectors and is coordinated by Women in Business, a division under 1819.Brussels, the entrepreneurial hub of Brussels. In 2017, the Brussels Government approved the "Next Tech" plan, which aims to support and foster the creation and growth of companies in the digital sector through various concrete measures. Women in Tech Brussels (WIT Brussels) emerged from the gender policy initiatives outlined in this digital plan. Women in Tech Belgium (WIT) is part of the WomenTech Network, which aims to empower women in tech through networking, leadership development, career growth, and mentorship opportunities. The WomenTech Network is a global coalition of local groups dedicated to promoting women in technology and inspiring the next generation of female tech leaders. It fosters an inclusive, supportive environment where individuals with an interest in technology can come together to learn, collaborate, and get inspired. The goal is to strengthen connections among members and their communities, thereby amplifying their collective impact. This network is an integral part of the global movement advocating for gender equality in tech.
