Abstract:
The GE-HEI project (Gender Equality in Higher Education Institutions) is a project funded by the Gender Conciliation and Equality Program of the EEA Grants 2014-2021. It aims to promote gender equality in higher education institutions in Portugal, by developing and implementing policies and measures to address gender inequalities and promote women's participation and leadership in academia and academic leadership positions. It this relates to the promotion of women’s representation, participation and social power. The project aims to raise awareness of gender issues among university staff and students, and to promote gender-sensitive teaching and research. By addressing gender inequalities and promoting gender-sensitive policies and practices, the project aims to support women's career development and enhance their representation. The project includes a range of activities, including the development of a national framework for gender equality in higher education, the implementation of gender mainstreaming initiatives in higher education institutions, the promotion of gender-sensitive teaching and research, and the provision of training and support to university staff on gender equality issues.
