Abstract:
The goal of the Law 162/2021 (Gribaudo law), as foreseen by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), is to promote and support concrete measures for employers aimed at reducing gender inequalities in the field of career development, gender pay equity, and maternity protection. As of January 2022, incentive mechanisms, including the financial ones (e.g. business tax deductions), have been introduced to support, among other things, the career progression of women and the possibility for them to hold senior positions in companies (including micro and SMEs). Gender Equality Certification can be requested from companies of all sizes on a voluntary basis and on demand. Organisations accredited by Accredia (EC Regulation 765/2008) can issue the certification by following the gender equality practice UNI/PdR 125:2022. The list of accredited certifying bodies is available at https://certificazione.pariopportunita.gov.it/public/organismi-di-certificazione. Key Performance Indicators involve six (6) strategic assessment areas, namely: 1. Culture and strategy; 2. Governance; 3. Human resources (HR) management processes; 4. Opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in business; 5. Gender pay equity; and 6. Parental protection and Work-life balance.
